Omnes nos quasi oves erravimus is an anthem of humility. The text acknowledges our collective - and individual - failings and praises the Lord’s compassion and abundant forgiveness for these shortcomings. The music begins with a gentle supplication which repeats and intensifies into a powerful declaration of thanksgiving.
This piece is adapted from a movement of Isenberg’s oratorio, Messiahs: False and True, a meditation on messianic leaders and their followings.

Omnes nos quasi oves erravimus, unusquisque in viam suam declinavit: et posuit Dominus in eo iniquitatem omnium nostrum.
Et livore ejus sanati sumus.
All we like sheep have gone astray, each one in his own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
And with his stripes we are healed.
